Mamma Mia

The consequences of summer romances catch up with Donna Sheridan in the classic musical Mamma Mia. Her daughter, Sophie, is determined to have her father attend her wedding. However, there are three men who could possibly be her father and Sophie needs to find out which one it is. The determined bride to be invites all three of the men to her wedding but hides it from her mother. The men descend of the Greek Island where the wedding is to be held. The story sees Donna hide from her past and then have to confront it in a host of embarrassing scenes. The musical is set to the songs of the hugely successful pop band Abba. The musical includes songs such as “I have a dream”, “Dancing Queen”, “Mamma Mia” and “Thank you for the music”.

The popularity of the songs included in the musical ensures that audience sing along making it one of the most fun musicals to see. Mamma Mia boasts five Laurence Olivier Awards and five Tony Awards. It is currently showing at the Prince of Wales Theatre on the West End where tickets are still selling out night after night so pre-booking is essential.
