Charles Dickens classic novel Oliver Twist is set to music once again in the fantastic west end play Oliver! The tale 19th Century tale tells of an orphaned boy living in a workhouse that deprives the children of food and attention. The timid Oliver is encouraged to ask for more food following weeks of near starvation. His audacity results in him being sold on to an undertaker whereby he assumes the position of an apprentice. Oliver manages to escape and is ‘saved’ by the Artful Dodger who leads Oliver into a life of crime as the children are sent to steal from unsuspecting people across London.

The circle of thieves includes Nancy, played by the winner of the television show “I’ll do anything”. Nancy and Oliver connect and Nancy shows him love and comfort for the first time in his life. However, various events occur throughout the musical that ensures neither of their lives will be the same again.

This thrilling musical is set to some fantastic songs that have become family favourites. This years West End production of Oliver is likely to be the most popular one as theatre tickets sell out daily. The musical has attracted a winning cast including Black Adder star Rowan Atkinson and the winner of “I’ll do anything”. This show is one that will never fail to entertain audiences of all ages.
