The story of a famous performer’s cold hearted murder of a sister and husband following catching them having an affair and the aspiring performer finding herself in prison after murdering her lover has resulted in making one of the all time best musicals.

The story of Velma Kelly and Roxie Hart is told through the glamour of the 1920s jazz era. Velma Kelly is a true diva who keeps the media hanging on her every world. Roxie Hart aspires to this level of fame and through her clever lawyer’s plans; Roxie becomes more famous than Velma. The musical includes famous songs such as ‘All that Jazz’ which displays the vivacious talent of these young murderesses.

The musical is once again hitting the stage at the Cambridge Theatre following its successes their over the past eleven years which included the Laurence Olivier award for Outstanding Musical in 1998. Chicago first hit the stage in 1975 on Broadway and has continued its success their winning a Tony Award. The musical was put on screen in 2002 and starred award winning actresses Catherine Zeta Jones and Rene Zellweger and earned itself an Oscar. The classic story is set in the backdrop of 1920s jazz with cabaret performances and cold hearted murder.
